Orlando (Florida) is a very well-know family destination thanks to the Walt Disney World and the Universal Orlando Resort. Casselberry is a peaceful town in the neighborhood, dotted with 30 lakes and ponds and 17 parks. It is a nature destination for sure. Here are a few things you should know that will help you spend a pleasant family vacation!

Planning your family vacation to Casselberry

As you are traveling to the United States, you need a VISA except if you have American Citizenship or if you are a citizen from a country under the Visa Waiver Program (VWP).

Casselberry is a small charming town as you would see in documentaries or movies. You will not find flights to Casselberry, because there is no international airport. You will land in Orlando, a major city in the Sun Belt. It is easy to find a flight to Orlando by using the Airport Corner application. Just choose your date!

As you still have to travel 9 miles to get to Casselberry from the Orlando International Airport, you will certainly need a car rental. You can choose an airport transfer or rent a car for the rest of your stay. Your best options are Budget and Dollar Rent A Car. You will find what you are searching for on the Airport Corner platform. If you are keen on road trips and if you want to take your family for a ride, you can find the perfect car rental. You will somehow need an excellent GPS if you do not know Florida well.

Concerning accommodation, you can also find your hotel room online. As it is a small city, you will not have much choice, but what is available will satisfy you. You can, of course, expect a warm welcome, a comfortable room and a charming neighborhood. Travelers and families who have been to Casselberry know the Thurston House (851 Lake Avenue) and the Park Plaza Hotel (307 South Park Avenue). If your plan is to stay just a half-day or one day or two in town, you will have a much wider choice as you can stay in Orlando for example

Exploring nature with your family

Exploring Casselberry means exploring nature. Lakes and greenery define the city’s landscape. There are so many parks that will allow you to just take time to be together with your family. Kids can play and run while parents rest for a moment. Places such as the Secret Lake Park and the Lake Concord Park offer walkways, benches, shaded open lawns, kids' playgrounds, 150-year old oak trees, lit fountains (at night), sculptures and bike racks.

In the open lawns and the small amphitheatre, cultural events are often organized. During these occasions, you can park on the west side of City Hall or at the nearby Fifth Third Bank and Home Depot.

Secret Lake

Exploring the city with your family

Exploring Casselberry means exploring its parks. Your itineraries will always include parks. Some are small and some are huge. Within the Secret Lake Park, the Recreation Center offers quality leisure activities and services for all ages. The programs are designed to assist, inform, entertain, and enrich the inhabitant’s quality of life, but tourists can also profit from them.

If you do not want to be separated from your children, you can attend yoga, Zumba, dance, Tai Chi and exercise classes. It is an opportunity to have fun with your family and with the locals, and to get healthy as well.

Old Oak Tree

If you would like to teach your reluctant kids American arts and culture, take them the City Hall where you can admire colourful paintings, amazing mosaics, evocative sculptures, complex carvings and finely crafted pottery. Even tots will be happy and astounded. These City Hall exhibits are available Monday through Thursday, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. If you have good connections, you may get an invitation to attend exhibits from Central Florida's finest artists at the Art House. The simplest way to discover art and architecture is, however, to get around in town.

Having fun in Orlando

Casselberry belongs to the Orlando metropolitan area, located 9 miles to the northeast of Orlando’s downtown area. There are so many things to do in Florida but it would be a terrible mistake not to spend at least a day in this city if you come to Casselberry! Both are excellent vacation destinations, but they are the perfect opposite. The one is so peaceful while the other is extremely animated!

Orlando is a dream destination for families thanks to the famous theme parks, such as the Walt Disney World® Resort, SeaWorld® Orlando, the Universal Orlando Resort and the LEGOLAND® Florida Resort. • experiencing the fantasy miniature golf at the Pirate’s Cove Adventure Golf, including mountain caves, footbridges and waterfalls
  • And so much more!
