When our kids were younger, we opted for a week of rest in an all-inclusive resort once a year. The children thought this was fantastic as a change from the pretty hectic, active travel we usually do. In an all-inclusive resort they get the chance to make friends and it is great that you can walk up to the bar to order a cola any time you like. And luckily, they use so much energy in the pool that they’re not bouncing out of bed at night.

The disadvantage of such an all-inclusive holiday is is that you don’t really remember the resort. Was that the Hilton in Egypt? Or the Riu in Tenerife? There is, however, one all-inclusive resort that has stuck in my mind and must be the best resort in Turkey.

Rixos Premium Belek, Turkey

This hotel in the Rixos group is a true gem. It is a five-star resort, situated along the largest private beach of Belek. The rooms are large and luxurious. If the kids are a bit older, you can choose for connecting rooms, but they also have family rooms with two bedrooms. This was always very important to us.

Rixos Premium Belek has five swimming pools and you can go boating on the river that floats through the domain. At night you can enjoy a beautiful fountain show from the terrace.

If you love water parks, this is the place to be. Beside Rixos Premium Belek lies Troy Aqua with spectacular water slides that are really splashtacular. Hotel guests go in for free.

Usually I’m not a fan of the food in all-inclusive resorts, but Rixos Premium Belek caters for even the most demanding guests. And besides the buffet you have the choice of seven a la carte restaurants.

If you really want something special, you can rent one of the villas that are part of the hotel.

When you think about an all-inclusive holiday, you think mostly about food and drink, but in Rixos Premium Belek it also includes a lot of sports. For instance, dance classes, paddle boats, catamaran and surfing, tennis, archery…  In short, an all-inclusive for the spoilt traveller.
